Please join us as we welcome a panel of speakers ready to share their expertise. The speakers will present information about the variety of services offered and they will answer your questions. Working together we can enhance our students’ experiences and strengthen our UMass community. 

NSB Colloquium | Catherine Woolley PhD

The NSB Graduate Program will hold a colloquium titled Neurosteroid estrogens and seizures.  Catherine Woolley of the Deptartment of Neurobiology, Northwestern University will give the talk.

The colloquium is hosted by Dan Vahaba and takes place in 222 Morrill Science Center II from 4:00-5:00pm.

Refreshments will be served from 3:45-4:00pm.

Colin Leach PhD, Professor at the University of Connecticut, will present a talk entitled Policing & Protest: Affective Meaning in Black & White.

Dr. Leach conducts research on status and morality in self-evaluation, emotion, and social relations.

CRF Fall Travel Award Deadline

The Center for Research on Families will give out awards of $300 to a minimum of two graduate students who have written an outstanding paper or created an exceptional poster on issues of family research and will be presenting the paper or poster at a national research conference before December 31, 2016. The paper/poster must already have been accepted for presentation at the conference and the award money to be used exclusively for travel expenses associated with the conference.

Application Deadline: Friday, 21st October 2016
Notification: Mid-November 2016

NSB Colloquium - Jon Levine PhD

The NSB Graduate Program will hold a colloquium titled Preparing to launch:  Neuroendocrine mechanisms controlling puberty onset.  Jon Levine of the School of Medicine & Public Health, University of Wisconsin-Madison will give the talk.

The colloquium is hosted by Luke Remage-Healey and takes place in 222 Morrill Science Center II from 4:00-5:00pm.

Refreshments will be served from 3:45-4:00pm.
