UMass Amherst’s Office of National Scholarship Advisement (ONSA) is offering spring info sessions

Thursday, March 10, 2022 8:30am to Tuesday, May 31, 2022 8:30am

UMass Amherst’s Office of National Scholarship Advisement (ONSA) is offering spring info sessions on the Fulbright U.S Student Program and other postgraduate scholarships.

In our Fulbright General Info Session, ONSA advisors will cover general overviews including types of Fulbright grants, choosing which country to apply for, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines. In our follow-up How to Write a Fulbright Application workshop, students will get specific guidance in how to write an impressive Fulbright application.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships to graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, scientists, and artists for one academic year abroad. Program participants pursue graduate (MS degrees) or professional study, advanced research, or teach English in elementary and secondary schools or universities. Each year, approximately 1,600 Americans traveling to more than 140 countries receive support from Fulbright.

ONSA is also offering a Postgraduate Fellowships Info Session that will cover other postgraduate scholarships, such as DAAD Germany, Marshall (U.K.), Rhodes (U.K.), Mitchell (Ireland), Gates-Cambridge (U.K.), Schwarzman (China), and Luce (Asia).

These info sessions promise to be a solid launching pad for current juniors and above who are interested in applying for scholarships with fall 2022 semester deadlines.

Students are encouraged to check ONSA’s calendar of events for all spring info sessions, where they will find dates, times, and registration sign-up. Sessions are mostly held via Zoom, with a few in-person sessions with limited seating.
