Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience

A graduate program is defined by the faculty research, the training program, and the available facilities. Perhaps the most important of these is the research. A good program will strongly align with your interests. Use the box to the right or go to the Cognition Research page to explore our labs. We encourage you to contact any of our faculty to learn more about their research and to find out how likely they are to admit new students.

If you have additional questions about our program, contact our Area Head, Professor Kyle Cave at kcave@psych.umass.edu or (413) 545-2787.

Our students are funded through a mix of research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and fellowships from the university and outside agencies such as NSF. Historically, we have funded all of our students in good standing through their fifth year in our program. For more information on financial assistance in PBS, see Fees and Assistantships.
